EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO MAGNA!

On Tuesday 7th March, Class 3 and Class 4 visited Magna Science Centre at Rotherham.

We had an amazing day exploring the four 'pavilions' - Fire, Air, Water and Earth!

(Ask your child which one was their favourite and why!)

We also had a workshop, led by Magna staff, all about electricity and building circuits. It was brilliant!

At the end of our visit, some of the children were really pleased to receive their 'goody bag' - with a notebook and pen.(Some even wanted to use them straight away to do some writing on the way home!)

We would like to thank our parent volunteers - Emily's mum and Layla's mum, as well as our class governor Mrs Chapman.

Here are some photographs of our visit...

World Book Day!

Year 4 had lots of fun on World Book Day. Some children brought in 'props' or objects to give clues as to a story-book character. They then presented their 'clues' and the rest of the class tried to guess the character.

We also had a book swap. Most of the children brought in a book (that they no longer wanted) to recommend to the rest of the class. Names were then drawn from a hat and the children all got to choose a 'new' book to take home. As you can see from the photos below, we had many very happy children!

(A special 'thank you' to Seren and her mum, who sent extra books for the children who didn't bring one in!)

Religious Education - How 'light' is an important symbol in different faiths.

In our RE lessons, we have been learning about how important 'light' is in different religions and why.

We made the classroom as dark as we could and lit candles. We thought carefully about how the peace and candlelight made us feel.

Coaching - Bush-craft Sessions!

In our coaching sessions, we LOVED Bush Craft!

We built dens, made tracks, played Hide & Seek and also guided one-another while blindfolded. We also really enjoyed archery.

MFL - French Sessions

We have been really lucky to have a specialist languages teacher from Colne Valley High School come in and teach us French. The activities are so much fun and we are really enjoying it! Here we are having a competition to label parts of the body in French. Who do you think managed to be the quickest?
