World Book Day 2018
Year 2 had a great day celebrating World Book Day! The children came to school dressed as a range of story book characters, including Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, Little Red Riding Hood, Horrid Henry and even the Stickman!
We focused on two stories during the day that had a 'colour' theme, and completed lots of fun activities around them. During the morning, we read the story of 'The Day the Crayons Quit'. We wrote our own imaginative stories about discovering a magical multicoloured crayon and also wrote a new letter to Duncan from one of the crayons!
During the afternoon, we read the story of 'The Colour Monster'. This story explores feelings and likens them to particular colours. The children then created their own 'feelings jar' pictures to show happiness, sadness, anger, calm, fear and love.
We also used Purple Mash on the ipads to create our own book reviews based on our favourite books!
