Classroom Areas

In class 1 we split our classroom up into many different areas each with challenges and tasks for the children to complete while learning and having fun.

 

In the writing area the children are encouraged to come and write for various reasons, shopping lists; writing a sentence about a picture they have drawn; practicing the phonemes we have learnt during the recent weeks; practicing spellings etc..  We also have a self register where the children have to find their name on a clown tag, and write their name forming all the letters correctly on a free standing whiteboard.  We also ensure that there are writing opportunities in each of our other areas to encourage writing for any purpose and to make sure children who would not choose to work in the writing area are still able and encouraged to write.
