Launched at Linthwaite Ardron School in September 2005, all the seven schools met and most of the staff attended. There were workshops from creating poetry to making a Colne Valley Learning Network Logo. It was a wonderful opportunity for the schools to meet and share ideas.
The key aim of the Network is to share ideas and raise the standards in boys' writing. Seven schools in the Valley belong to the Network - Linthwaite Ardron, Marsden, Nields, Slaithwaite CofE, Beech, St. John's and Wilberlee.
There has been a variety of workshops throughout the year that teachers and ETA's have attended from DT to RE.
The School Council have also visited Nields School - they spent the morning in classrooms and interviewed the children about their school. In return, Nields and Beech school children have spent a morning at Ardron. The children asked a variety of questions from their playtimes to after school clubs and uniforms.
