EYFS Home Learning

Whilst as a school community we are at home at this unprecedented and unsettling time, we would like our children to take this opportunity to spend their time being creative, playing and enjoying time with you at home.

The next few weeks may be very daunting for the children, to help them through this we would appreciate your support in promoting their mental health and emotional well-beingWe know that many children at our school enjoy and benefit from the usual routine of the school day, so we will be putting together a suggested weekly learning pack that will be available each Monday morning for each class.  There are also recommended daily activities that we would like the children to complete every day.

Please do not feel obliged to complete every activity that is given - this is a guide and should be treated as such.

Charanga YUMU logins have been sent out via Tapestry- please contact the office if you have any issues.

Daily Activities

These are simple activities which your child would benefit doing every day to help keep up with their maths and reading skills.

Joe Wicks will be live streaming a 30 minute PE session. Physical activity helps to build not only their physical strength, but their confidence, anxiety management and self-esteem.

Top Marks Maths

Playing little and often will significantly improve your child’s recall and understanding of number  and addition and subtraction .

We are recommending 10 minutes practice every day.

Play Phase 2, 3  and 4 Phonics games to test and revise all the phonics learning you have done in school this year. We recommend 15 minutes practice every day.

You can also click here to be taken to our phonics page which has lots of links to use.

To help children regulate their emotions in this difficult time, we would like them to complete a mindfulness exercise every day in order to learn techniques that will help them deal with any worries and concerns that they may have.

We would like the children to read with an adult for at least 15 minutes every day. This can be a reading book, a magazine, instruction manual - anything at all! There are many e-books available on the oxford owl website too.

Keeping in touch other resources

Your child's online learning journal is a great way to record your child's achievements and learning through observations with photos and videos and for me to keep assessment up to date as your child continues to learn and develop.

It is also a great way to communicate with me with any specific questions about your child's home learning.
